Payment will be processed and is required at the time of registration. Students are considered registered when tuition is paid in full.
Refund only possible if student withdraws by phone or in writing at least 10 days prior to the first class— NO EXCEPTIONS.
If the class is cancelled by EFC, a full refund will be given. Students will be notified of any scheduling changes. We will contact students if class is cancelled due to severe weather and a make-up class will be scheduled.

A “Muffin Basket” is a rectangular-shaped basket designed to hold muffins— or whatever else you may desire! In this fun class, learn how to weave one of these darling baskets with a small handle on each end. Featuring a customizable design element where the sides are woven with colored reeds, students have the option to add their own unique touch to each basket! All materials provided. This beginner-friendly class is open to all skill levels.

The craft of marquetry is centuries-old, dating back to the BC era. In this class you will learn about the aspects of marquetry, its origin and how to take your interest to the next level, if you so desire. In this in-depth, hands-on demonstration, you will be given the opportunity to safely experience use of a scroll saw in the process of making initial cuts of a “compass rose” design. Instructor will provide all materials at no additional cost.

For beginning to experienced wet Felters, join us for a a nunofelting workshop that will produce a “clutch” purse , decorated with silk, and yarn embellishments. Wet felting involves the wetting and agitation of the wool fibers laminated with silk and yarn. We will also make flowers to finish off the cover. Please bring a good pair of sharp scissors, and 2-3 large towels to class. (Ages 16+)

If you’ve ever wanted to try abstract painting but aren’t sure where to start, or if you have some experience and want to improve your skills in composition and design, this class is perfect for you. Gerry has more than 35 years of experience teaching Abstract Painting and Mixed Media. She has won national awards for her abstract artwork. Bring a sheet of 140lb watercolor paper, a basic set of acrylic paints (including black and white), and three brushes: a 2-inch flat, a 1-inch flat, and a round brush. (Ages 16+)

Create a needle felted seascape featuring three-dimensional elements! Open to all skill levels, students will learn how to ”paint” with wool, using prefelted sheets and sharp barbed needles. Students will also integrate specialty fibers and small woolen accents to enhance texture and create depth. The completed piece can be framed for display, used as a pillow cover, or serve as a trivet. Instructional handouts, visual references and practical tips will be provided. Participants are encouraged to either draw from their own imagination, or bring photographs for inspiration. (Ages 11+)

Unplug from the stress of modern life and immerse yourself in the mindful, rhythmic movements of tapestry weaving. Students will learn the basics of how to create images with fiber using a simple tapestry loom to weave a tiny tapestry from start to finish. This class is great for both beginners who have never touched a tapestry loom and experienced handweavers who will discover a new way to enjoy the loom. All materials are included, including a wooden tapestry loom and accessories (beater comb, shuttle stick, and tapestry needle), all of which students can keep. (Ages 16+)

Let’s bring some warmth to wood with a sunflower-themed pyrography project! This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the art of woodburning while creating a rustic sunflower design on a natural wood slice. We’ll cover wood types and surface preparation, transferring images or freehand sketching, and using a pyrography tool for shading and texture. Your supply kit includes a 7- to 9-inch basswood round, pencils, graphite paper, and sandpaper. No prior experience with woodburning, woodworking, or drawing is needed. All materials will be provided. (Ages 16+)

Create a whimsical hedgehog while learning the art of needle felting! Students will start from scratch, using wool roving, German mohair, and sharp barbed needles to complete the form. This class will require basic sewing skills, students will need to sew the mohair fabric onto the back of their pieces. There are endless possibilities once you have learned this technique! Materials fee includes instructional packet, wool, needles and foam mat to take home. (Ages 13+)

Discover how to use impression dies to craft rings, pendants, earrings, or just build your own handmade forms using these dies in a hydraulic press to achieve texture and detail! Students will gain hands-on experience in annealing, using a jeweler’s saw, and soldering, while also having a chance to explore their own creativity. All materials, including tools and supplies are provided. (Ages 16+)

Want to go beyond making marks on a surface to create art? This 4-week multi media class is all about exposing students to different mediums and techniques. Dive right in and discover all the tips and tricks to conquer the unique characteristics and methods for each art form. From colored pencil and pastels to watercolors and acrylics, each week you will be introduced to a new medium and encouraged to dive in! No need for any drawing experience, Tif will give you all the tools you’ll need to be successful. You can then practice these new skills while exploring each medium and developing your own personal artistic style. In addition to working on a variety of subjects, including still life, landscapes and/or inanimate objects, students will also be shown tips and tricks to help master each unique medium. Explore new art processes and unlock your inspiration! All materials provided. (Ages 13+)

This class will cover the basics of composition, value, color mixing, mark making with brush and palette knife, and how to have fun while learning! Each class will start with a short lecture and demo. Speed painting and sketching drills are not just a blast but will help work out possible problems ahead of painting. You will end up creating several studies and one or more of your own masterpieces from a favorite photo, each working at your own pace. (Ages 13+)

Take your woodburning skills to the next level with this intermediate pyrography class. We will create a detailed chickadee perched on a branch. This class will focus on realistic textures, shading techniques, and fine details to bring your bird to life. We’ll cover advanced line work, layering for depth, and methods to create soft feather textures and wood grain effects. Your supply kit includes a natural basswood plank, graphite paper, and sandpaper. Some prior experience with pyrography is recommended, but all skill levels are welcome! All materials will be provided. (Ages 16+)

Beginner students are introduced to fundamental metalsmithing skills including designing, sawing, filing, forging, finishing, creating texture, soldering, and making bezels. Beginner Plus students will take the next steps to advance their skills. Forged rings and bracelets, jewelry with bezels, and cool earrings will be added to your jewelry collection! All basic studio materials are provided including copper. Sterling silver and stones are available for purchase.

This class is for students who have basic metalsmithing skills (designing, sawing, filing, soldering, and polishing) and want more experience refining their skills. Create a project of your choice out of wire or sheet metal: a ring, earrings, bracelet, or pendant. All materials are provided— including copper for practice, but sterling silver is available to purchase. (ages 16+)

Students will then complete the project using a variety of finishing techniques. Some jewelry and torch experience is helpful, but not necessary. Put a fresh spin on an ordinary ring. Create rings that are as fun to wear as they are beautiful. Students will make two separate ring bands, one wider than the other that will be fabricated together to allow the thinner band to move freely over the wider band. Several jewelry making techniques will be demonstrated: soldering, forming, and hammering to make your own spin ring. Copper and tools will be provided. Sterling silver is available to purchase.

Students will be introduced to all the basic skills in this 15-hour afternoon beginner class. Learn how to design your own pieces, and practice sawing, piercing, filing, polishing, texturing, soldering, and making bezels. Students will go home with a finished project after each class, a pendant using sheet metal, ring, bezel set stone, and a forged bracelet. All materials are provided, including copper for practice. Sterling silver is available to purchase.

Explore the colorful, exciting world of torch-fired enamels! You will be mesmerized by the dancing flame of the torch as it transforms powdered glass into beautiful works of exquisite jewelry. Students will experiment with powdered enamels, copper and a studio torch. Learn all about enamel basics. Metal is your canvas to explore color and design! Watch as colors and textures change and glass begins to fuse onto a warm copper base, creating pieces to be made into earrings and pendants!

This fun and intensive workshop will introduce you to the basics of how to throw on the potter’s wheel from start to finish. Ideal for students who haven’t worked in clay or haven’t touched clay in years. Everyone will complete at least one small piece to take home after it has been fired. Bring a towel to class. Returning students will also be introduced to new surface design techniques including slip trailing and sgraffito. Bring a towel to use during class.

Blockprinting is one of the oldest forms of printmaking, dating back thousands of years. Discover this ancient art by designing and carving your own printing block for use on paper or fabric! Students will learn how to transfer images and create their own designs. We will explore repeat patterns and introduce various supplies and tools used in this process. By the end of the workshop, each student will have plenty of information to continue to practice this craft, along with several prints and their carved block for future use. If you have a specific design in mind, feel free to bring it along, plus any materials you would like to print on during class! All materials will be provided. (Consider bringing an apron and your glasses!)

Create a needle felted floral piece/landscape, ready to frame! Open to all skill levels—No felting or drawing experience needed. 2D needlefelting is a perfect introduction to the medium. Students will learn how to transfer floral designs to felt and “paint” the images with wool using various textured fibers (wool roving) and sharp barbed needles. The finished piece can be framed and hung, used as a pillow cover, or a trivet. Instructional handouts, picture references and tips will be provided. Students may use their own imagination or bring in photos to work from. Materials fee includes instructional packet, wool, needles and foam mat to take home. (Ages 11+)

Students will learn to make pysanka, a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. Using a stylus, beeswax and dyes, several layers of color are built up on the egg’s surface. When complete, the wax is melted off, revealing the vividly colored design. Materials fee includes all the supplies needed to create your Pysanky Egg. No artistic experience necessary and beginners are welcome!

Bring your own pad and needles if you have them, or buy the tool kit. Materials fee includes $20 Supply Pack and optional $10 Tool Kit (needles and felting pad to keep). (Ages 15+)

Punch needle is fast and easy to learn! Similar to rug tufting, but on a smaller scale, students will be introduced to various punch needle techniques that can be used in dozens of useful and aesthetically pleasing ways. Once you have mastered the basic technique, there is no limit to applications for the craft, like rugs, tapestries, appliqués, coasters, carpet bags, hot mats, table runners, and more. No experience necessary and all materials will be provided! (Ages 16+)

In this fun class, students will learn how to weave a basic square basket that will be great for storing napkins or whatever you desire! The square form is the base for many different style baskets. These baskets will be woven with 3/8” natural flat reed that contains beautiful colored accents. To finish off the baskets, students will also learn how to weave a standard rim to the top of the basket. Open to all skill levels.
